AFTER touring Britain and invading Warsaw, Poland, to acclaimed
criticism, The Black Sheep are returning to the Edinburgh
Festival for their fifth consecutive year
and they mean business!
This exceptional team of individuals has distilled the confectionary
of their back catalogue, added succulent new material and stirred
the gorgeous mixture to create Luxury Assortment, a short
hour of seriously comic sketches, which will be performed at Metro
Gilded Balloon at The Venue, Calton Road.

Known in a previous incarnation as Ubersausage, The Black Sheep
consists of the founder, Ciaran Murtagh, Andrew Jones, Bryony
Hannah, Juliet FitzGerald and
Peter Rates.
These accomplished comic actors, who were responsible for the
2002 Edinburgh hit, Fairly Tales, bring
a bittersweet blend of dark comedy to life in Luxury Assortment,
with characters and sketches which include a performing bear with
more tricks up his sleeve, Mr Howdy-Do and his world record handshake
attempt, and Anne Frank (the musical!).
Through a combination of awards (Observer Award, Comedy Red Peoples'
Choice Award, Time Out Critics' Choice) and television appearances
(Trigger Happy TV,
Da Ali G Show), The Black Sheep have established, and maintained,
a reputation for sinful originality and organised anarchy. In
short, they are deliciously funny.
