GOOD news for the Wimbledon littlies! After 10 years of delighting
children in Italy, Tom Thumb has come to Britain, bringing
with him his chicken hat and his portable window to tell us his
story.
Tom Thumb, presented by Lyngo, is aimed at children aged
3 to 8 years and receives its premiere at Wimbledon Studio
Theatre on Saturday, May 3 at, 11am and 1pm and it lasts just
one hour.
Written by Marcello Chiarenza, Tom Thumb is translated
and performed by Patrick Lynch, with original music by Carlo 'Cialdo'
Capelli. The assistant director is Gianni Bissaca.
Tom Thumb is a story about being afraid, as the little
chap and his six brothers are when they hear the ogre coming up
the stairs. It is also about being hungry, which Tom's mum and
dad know all about as they try to lose their own children in the
forest.
When you play, things change and this show is full of all sorts
of surprises - drawers turn into bedrooms, tiny branches into
a forest and a napkin into a princess.
