Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle
FOLLOWING the success of Macbeth and Doctor Faustus, Pandemonium Performance are returning to Abney Park Cemetery with Steve Fitzgerald’s adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland – from July 13 to July 31, 2016.
Join Alice as she journeys down the rabbit hole into a world of strange and uncanny beings. This unique promenade performance will take you deep into Wonderland as Alice meets the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat and other iconic characters.
This production will bring all the surreal fun and dark intrigue of Carroll’s novel and promises to be an unmissable opportunity to see this beloved classic in a beautiful and singular location.
Abney Park, in Stoke Newington, is one of the ‘magnificent seven’ garden cemeteries of London. It is a woodland memorial park and Local Nature Reserve, managed by the London Borough of Hackney.
NB: Since this is an outdoor promenade performance, please be prepared to dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. And because Abney Park is a nature reserve, the ground can be uneven and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, or allergies to insects, flora and fauna.
Tickets: £13/£11 – available from www.wegottickets.com/pandemoniumperformance and on the door, if available.
Time: Wednesday to Sunday at 7.30pm.
