Full cast announced for Kenneth Branagh's Romeo and Juliet

FULL casting has been announced for Kenneth Branagh’s production of Romeo and Juliet, which runs at the Garrick Theatre from May 12 to August 13, 2016.
Joining previously announced Lily James (as Juliet), Richard Madden (Romeo) and Derek Jacobi (Mercutio) will be Meera Syal (Behind The Beautiful Forevers, National Theatre, Much Ado About Nothing, Royal Shakespeare Company) as The Nurse.
Speaking about her forthcoming role, Syal said: “I’m so looking forward to joining such an exciting and prestigious company, and to be performing Shakespeare with them in this, his 400th anniversary year.”
Completing the cast will be Marisa Berenson (Lady Capulet), Jack Colgrave Hirst (Benvolio), Tom Hanson (Paris), Matthew Hawksley (Anthony), Taylor James (Prince), Ansu Kabia (Tybalt), Racheal Ofori (Potpan), Nikki Patel (Balthasar), Chris Porter (Lord Montague), Zoe Rainey (Lady Montague), Michael Rouse (Lord Capulet), Sam Valentine (Friar Laurence) and Kathryn Wilder (Peta/Apothecary).
The production will be co-directed by Kenneth Branagh and Rob Ashford.
Written by William Shakespeare early in his career, Romeo and Juliet is the story of two young star-crossed lovers whose untimely deaths reconcile their feuding families.
Romeo and Juliet will be broadcast live to selected cinemas on July 7.
The Kenneth Branagh Season at the Garrick also includes Lolita Chakrabarti’s Red Velvet (until February 27) and The Painkiller, starring Kenneth Branagh and Rob Brydon (March 5 to April 30, 2016).
