CASTING has been announced for Ruby in the Dust’s jazz musical production of Gatsby, which runs at the Union Theatre from April 12 (previews from April 6) to April 30, 2016.
The line up includes Paul DuBois (Carousel, Theatre Under The Stars, Vancouver, My German Routes, Arcola Theatre) as Meyer Wolfsheim; Nicholas Fagerberg (La Ronde and Terra Nova, Academy Theatre, Off Broadway) as Jay Gatsby; Joanna Brown (A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Princess and the Pea, York Theatre Royal) as Daisy Buchanan; and Blair Robertson (The Grand Tour, Dorian Gray and Annie Get Your Gun, Tarento Productions) as Nick Carraway.
They are joined by James Rallinson (Made In Britain, Old Red Lion, Arthur’s World and Boy, Bush Theatre) as George Wilson; Ferne McCann (The Only Way Is Essex, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, ITV’s This Morning) as Myrtle Wilson; Kate Marlais (War Horse, West End, The Great Gatsby Riverside Studios, The Human Comedy (Young Vic) as Jordan Baker; and Zed Josef (Dinner With Saddam, Menier Chocolate Factory, The Merchant of Venice, Redgrave Theatre) as Tom Buchanan.
The ensemble includes Emma Whittaker, Katie Beudert, Lewis Rae, Mark Townsend and Samantha Louise Clark.
Meyer Wolfsheim is in his favourite ‘speakeasy’ having received the shock of his life. “When a man gets killed – I keep out!”. But this time there’s something else; something – or someone – that draws him into Gatsby’s world.
