THIS December, Dumbshow are presenting Humbug! The Hedgehog Who Couldn’t Sleep at The Albany. A humorous and uplifting festive treat for families, it runs from Sunday, December 1 to Sunday, December 29, 2019.
This captivating tale of friendship and belonging is full of charming characters and visual flair to entertain children and adults alike.
You don’t want to be above ground when winter comes around: every hedgehog knows that.
As Humbug tries to hibernate in her cosy nest, suddenly her home comes under threat! Forced to leave her bed, she goes on a quest to find a new place to call home. Along the way she meets a host of weird and wonderful characters – but will she find the perfect place for a slumber party, where she can snuggle up till spring?
Humbug! The Hedgehog Who Couldn’t Sleep was originally developed and produced with Nuffield Southampton Theatres.
The Dumbshow ensemble was established in 2007 by Artistic Director Michael Bryher and has been working together for over 10 years. Dumbshow make visually arresting and textually rich storytelling theatre that aims to: tell stories that fire our imaginations, that are important and that need to be told in the theatre, create live events that celebrate the collective experience and make plays that are intellectually and emotionally challenging.
Humbug! The Hedgehog Who Couldn’t Sleep was commissioned by the Albany and ARC Stockton to provide an exciting, original and excellent Christmas show for families.
