King's Head Theatre announces appointment of James Seabright as new Chair of the Board

THE King’s Head Theatre announced today that theatre producer James Seabright will succeed John Dauth as Chair of the Board with effect from October 1, 2016.

Adam Spreadbury-Maher, Artistic Director of the King’s Head Theatre, said:

“I’m thrilled and honoured that James Seabright – published author, award-winning producer and Godfather of the fringe – has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees at the King’s Head Theatre. He brings with him a wealth of experience at the coalface producing exciting and unforgettable theatre. I am fully confident the King’s Head is on course for an even brighter future with James as our new Chair.”

James Seabright commented:

“I’m delighted to be joining the board of the King’s Head Theatre as its new Chair. I have admired the great programme of work that Adam Spreadbury-Maher has developed at the venue in his tenure to date, together with pioneering initiatives with Equity towards fair rates of pay for those working on the fringe. I look forward to supporting him and his team in building on their successes both at their Upper Street home, and elsewhere – as productions set off on tour around the country and the world.”

James Seabright is an Olivier Award-winning theatrical producer and general manager. His current productions include The Boys In The Band (Park Theatre), Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (Lyric Theatre), Trainspotting (Vaults), Potted Panto (Garrick Theatre) and Potted Potter (world tour).

His past productions include Eric and Little Ern (Vaudeville and St James Theatres), Our Boys (Duchess Theatre), Simon Callow in The Man Jesus (UK tour) and over 200 productions at the Edinburgh Fringe. He is on the board of the League of Independent Producers, sits on the bursary panel of Stage One, is an associate of Wilton’s Music Hall and a member of the Society of London Theatre.
