IMAGES have been released of the cast rehearsing for the West End transfer of the Donmar Warehouse’s Olivier Award-winning production of City of Angels. To view them, click here.
Previously Posted: Award-winning Hollywood actor, Theo James, best known for playing Four in Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant, will be joining the cast of City of Angels. He will play Stone alongside stage actor Jonathan Slinger (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Buddy/Irwin.
They will join the already announced Hadley Fraser (Les Misérables, Young Frankenstein), Rosalie Craig (Company) and Rebecca Trehearn (Show Boat), with BRIT Award-winner Nicola Roberts (Girls Aloud) making her stage debut and Emmy and Grammy Award nominee Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives) making her West End debut.

“I’m thrilled that two more phenomenal actors have joined this wonderful company. I knew Theo was a terrific actor, but I had no idea he was also in possession of such an exceptional singing voice. He and Hadley Fraser will be dynamite playing opposite each other. Jonathan Slinger is one of our finest actors, and I’m so happy to be working with him at long last. I think he will bring a magnetic danger to the role of this Hollywood Mephistopheles, Buddy Fiddler.”

Theo James’ theatre credits include: Sex with Strangers (Hampstead Theatre) and Closer (Nottingham New Theatre). His television work includes: Dark Crystal; Sanditon; Castlevania; Golden Boy; Case Sensitive; Room at the Top; Bedlam for which he won Best Actor at the Salento Film Festival; Downton Abbey; A Passionate Woman and Red Tails.
James’ film credits include: Archive; Lying and Stealing; Backstabbing for Beginners; How It Ends; Zoe; Underworld: Blood Wars; Allegiant; War on Everyone; The Secret Scripture; Franny; London Fields; Insurgent; Divergent; The Domino Effect; Underworld 4; The Inbetweeners and You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.

City of Angels will play at the Garrick Theatre for a limited season – from Thursday, March 5 to Saturday, September 5, 2020.
