Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown to close
HAVING recently extended its booking period at the Playhouse Theatre until August 22, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown has announced that it will now close on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
Previously Posted: It has just been announced that Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown has extended its run at the Playhouse Theatre. Originally booking until May 9, it will now continue until Saturday, August 22, 2015.
Olivier Award-nominees Tamsin Greig (Best Actress in a Musical) and Haydn Gwynne (Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical) continue to lead the international cast that includes Ricardo Afonso, Marianne Benedict, Seline Hizli, Holly James, Michael Matus, Rebecca McKinnis, Sarah Moyle, Alastair Natkiel, Haydn Oakley, Jérôme Pradon, Nuno Queimado, Dale Rapley, Anna Skellern, and Willemijn Verkaik.
The production is directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher.
The UK première of David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane’s musical comedy adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar’s Oscar-nominated film, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, opened at The Playhouse Theatre on January 12, 2015 to critical acclaim.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is set in Madrid, a city pulsing with art, industry and passion and it’s there that Pepa’s world is unravelling. Her lover leaves her. And then she meets his wife. And his son. And his new girlfriend. Meanwhile, Pepa’s best friend is tangled up in her own romantic crisis with a suspected criminal, leaving Pepa with only the taxi driver to help navigate the laughter and tears of the road ahead.
