Lord of the Rings - Toronto

Lord of the Rings, Toronto

Story by Jack Foley

LORD of the Rings will receive its world premiere at The Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto on March 23, 2006.

The three act play will combine the key issues from all three books and is not a musical as such but, as producer Kevin Wallace explained, “a blend of play and musical and spectacular design.”

He also reaffirmed that “There will be no singing, dancing hobbits.”

An international creative team led by critically acclaimed director Matthew Warchus, and including award-winning designer Rob Howell and the celebrated choreographer Peter Darling has combined to create this unmissable theatrical event.

With a thrilling score, a spectacular design, and featuring an ensemble of over 65 actors, singers and musicians The Lord of the Rings is the biggest, most ambitious theatrical production ever staged.

Tolkien fans who cannot wait to see the show in West End (in 2007?) can order tickets here for the Toronto run…
