THERES cool, and then theres Steven Soderbergh and
George Clooney, and Hollywoods hippest double act show no
sign of letting up.
As pre-production gathers pace on Oceans 12, the keenly-anticipated
sequel to Oceans 11,
it has been announced that Catherine Zeta-Jones has signed on
to appear alongside the star-studded cast, which has succeeded
in reuniting every one of the dream team from the original.
Producer, Jerry Weintraub, confirmed recently that the 34-year-old
Welsh born, Oscar-winner, will play an agent of an Interpol-style
police agency, in the globe-trotting sequel, which will be shot
in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Chicago, Las Vegas and Monte Carlo,
from April.
The follow-up will find Clooneys Danny Ocean reuniting
with crew members, such as Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and Brad Pitt,
to pull off yet another elaborate heist.
And, as Weintraub stated: "It's not easy to find an actress
who can measure up to the star power of this cast, but Catherine
will not only hold her own, she'll add a lot to the movie."

The producer also confirmed that Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia,
Carl Reiner, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, and Elliott Gould would
all be re-appearing for the sequel, which looks set to effortlessly
surpass the $183 million it took at the North American box office,
alone, when it opens in December 2004 (although this date is subject
to change).
Zeta-Jones, who recently sacked her agent, is no stranger to
the Soderbergh/Clooney circles, having appeared in the directors
drugs epic, Traffic, and
teaming up with Clooney for last years romantic comedy,
Intolerable Cruelty.
She also appeared alongside Julia Roberts in the romantic comedy,
Americas Sweethearts,
and is one of the hottest properties in Hollywood, thanks to her
marriage to Michael Douglas, and her Oscar-winning turn in Chicago.
Oceans Eleven was released in 2001 and became an instant
world-wide hit, featuring Clooney as a veteran thief, who leads
a multi-talented gang in a heist of three Las Vegas casinos, owned
by Andy Garcias love rival.
The film was, itself, a remake of the 1960 film of the same name,
which featured the original Rat Pack -
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and
Joey Bishop.
We can hardly wait
