The Great Spitalfields Pancake Race

THE ANNUAL Great Spitalfields Pancake Race takes place on Shrove Tuesday which, this year, falls on February 5, 2008.
The race will take place along Dray Walk at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. To enter, get together a team of four people suitable dressed up (or down!) and bring along your own frying pan – pancakes will be provided.
Heats start at 12.30pm, followed by the finals and prize giving. The winners will receive an engraved frying pan and, as well as prizes for the runners up and the best dressed team, there will be pancakes for all entrants. While music by the Lost Marbles String Band and clowns provided by the E Team will add to the atmosphere of the occasion.
The event is organised by Alternative Arts in aid of the London Air Ambulance (registered charity number 801013), so try to get yourself sponsored or take along a donation on the day.
