HORROR titles Halloween Ends, Forever Purge and Candyman have all had their release dates pushed back amid ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, particularly in the US.

The Forever Purge, which had been due for release in July 2020, is being pushed to July 9, 2021, while David Gordon Green’s Halloween Kills, a follow-up to his blockbuster 2018 revival, is also being delayed by almost a year – from October 16, 2020 to October 15, 2021.

Green once again directed from a script he wrote with Scott Teems and Danny McBride, while executive producers include John Carpenter and Jamie Lee Curtis.

In turn, Halloween Ends, the third outing in the revived franchise from Miramax, Blumhouse and Trancas International Films, is likewise seeing its release being pushed back almost a year, from October 15, 2021 to October 14, 2022.

Separately, Nia DaCosta’s Candyman adaptation is shifting its release slightly, from September 25, 2020 to October 16, 2020. The screenplay is from Jordan Peele, Win Rosenfeld and DaCosta.
