The Incredibles 2

Story by Jack Foley

BREAKING Bad and Better Call Saul star Jonathan Banks and former One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush have been revealed to be playing new characters in Incredibles 2.

Banks will play Rick Dicker, a government leader who helps the Parr family keep their superhero identities secret as head of the Super Relocation Program.

Unfortunately for the super team, the family is left to their own devices when the division is closed.

Bush, meanwhile, will play Voyd, a young Elastigirl fan who aspires to be a superhero and has the power of creating voids, allowing objects to appear and disappear.

Banks presence among the Incredibles‘ vocal ensemble creates something of a Breaking Bad/Saul reunion, given that Better Call Saul main man Bob Odenkirk has also previously been announced as a cast member of the animated sequel.

He will play Winston Deavor, who leads a telecommunications company with his sister Evelyn Deavor (the also recently announced Catherine Keener).

Winston is further described as a sueprhero fan who would like to help bring them out of hiding and back into the public eye by revamping public perception of them.

Sister Evelyn, meanwhile, is a genius who loves working on tech and has never met a problem she can’t solve.

Other previously announced cast members include Parr family members Mr Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) and their children, Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dashiell (Huck Milner) and baby Jack Jack.

Samuel L. Jackson returns as Frozone, while writer-director Brad Bird will reprise his role as Edna ‘E’ Mode, who creates super-suits for the superheroes.

Although plot details remain sketchy, the story is said to focus more on Elastigirl, while Mr Incredible is left at home with their children, including baby Jack-Jack, whose family remain unaware of his emerging powers. A

However, once a new – and secret – villain comes onto the scene to pose a new threat, the family and Frozone must join forces once more.

Incredibles 2 is set for release in the US on June 15.
