Patrick Wilson to play Aquaman villain

Patrick Wilson in Morning Glory

Story by Jack Foley

PATRICK Wilson has joined the cast of DC’s Aquaman as its main villain.

The actor will play Ocean Master, the half-brother of Arthur Cury, aka Aquaman.

Known as Orm Curry, he grew up jealous of his half-brother’s powers given that he had none of his own. He eventually turns to super villainy, using technology to transform himself into the Ocean Master.

Wilson will line up alongside Jason Momoa, who is starring as Aquaman. Momoa made a cameo in Batman v Superman and is also set to appear in next year’s Justice League. His own solo adventure film, which also stars Amber Heard as Mera, is due for release on October 5, 2018.

Director James Wan confirmed Wilson’s casting via Twitter Monday. The two have a long history working together on projects such as The Conjuring and Insidious.

Wilson is also no stranger to the superhero genre, having played Nite Owl in Zack Snyder’s 2009 comic book adaptation Watchmen.
