THE Specials have announced a reunion tour for 2009 as part of their 30th anniversary celebrations.

The ska band will play a series of gigs next April and May, including two nights at London’s Brixton Academy.

The reunion was revealed in an exclusive interview with NME, in which frontman Terry Hall said that the band had decided to reform in 2009 to celebrate such a significant birthday.

He also confirmed that original members Neville Staple, Sir Horace Gentleman, Roddy Radiation, Lynval Golding and John Bradbury are all confirmed to play at the gigs – although founder member Jerry Dammers is not set to tour at this stage.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on December 11 and the tour dates are (all April and May 2009):

23 – Sheffield Academy
25 & 26 – Birmingham Academy
28 – Glasgow Academy

May
3 – Manchester Apollo
6 & 7 – London Brixton Academy
