Assassins - Landor Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

WEST 72nd Productions is presenting Sondheim and Weidman’s darkly comic musical, Assassins, at Landor Theatre – from January 23 to February 2, 2008.

In America’s short history, nine men and women have not only wanted to shoot the President but actually tried to do so. Some were successful. Some were not. Assassins considers what these desperate people hoped to achieve and how it impacted on the lives of the country around them.

Ben Carrick directs a cast that includes Jenni Bowden, Langley Brandon, Alex Browne, Claire Daly, Tim Jackling, Nathan Kiley, Claire McGarahan, Jeff Nicholson, Sebastian Palka, Kirsten Parks, Christopher Ragland, April Small, Graham Weaver and Kris Webb.

Assassins, which is produced by Josh Black for West 72nd Productions, has music direction by Richard Bates. Music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim, and the book is by John Weidman.

Tickets: £12.50, £10 concessions.

Times: Tuesday to Saturday – 7.30pm, Sunday – 3pm.
