Bathhouse The Musical! - Above the Stag

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

ABOVE The Stag Theatre is presenting the UK premiere of Esther Daack and Tim Evanicki’s Bathhouse The Musical! – from September 8 to October 11, 2009.

Described as a rib tickling, toe tapping, towel flicking musical, it sees Billy visiting the bathhouse for the first time. And although Billy is looking for love, he soon realizes that the other patrons are looking for…something a little more temporary!

The cast includes Nic Gilder, Gary Fakes, Jon Harrison, Frank Loman Craig O’Hara and Nicolas Sagar.

Bathhouse The Musical! is directed and choreographed by Tim McArthur whose directing credits include Blink!, Casanova, Coloured Lights, Obama On My Mind, Seduction, Hello Jerry, Merman at the Jermyn, Jack the Ripper and Silver Heaven.

As an actor and singer he recently appeared as Susannah in Cinderella (Radlett Arts Centre), soloist in Coloured Lights (Jermyn Street Theatre and Greenwich Playhouse) and John Prescott in Blair on Broadway (Arts Theatre).

McArthur also created Sister Mary McArthur (the musical comedy nun) and cabaret at the Purcell Room, Pizza on the Park and Don’t Tell Mama, New York.

Produced by Peter Bull, Artistic Director of Above the Stag Theatre, Bathhouse The Musical! is designed by Prav Menon-Johansson, with lighting by Howard Hudson and musical direction by Daniel Johnson.

NB: Bathhouse The Musical is a musical comedy for mature audiences, with adult themes, language, and scantily clad men!

Tickets: £12.
