Previously Posted: To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the Landor Theatre is staging a revival of the first musical ever produced at the venue – Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods – from September 17 to October 17, 2009.

Brought to the Landor stage by the creative team behind its internationally acclaimed production of Follies, Into the Woods promises an intimate examination of the human condition and its ultimate frailty.

Sondheim’s musical combines the well-known fairy tales of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood with the story of The Baker and his Wife who desperately want a child.

It was first seen on Broadway in 1989 and ran for 764 performances at the Martin Beck Theater. It subsequently played in London – at the West End’s Phoenix Theatre – from September 1990 to February 1991.

Sondheim’s other works include Passion, Sunday in the Park with George, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd and Assassins.

Tickets: £15, £12 concessions.

Time: 7.30pm.
