BRONSON, one of the most controversial films of 2009, is released on DVD on July 6.
The film was released to rave reviews with some writers calling the film "A Clockwork Orange for the 21st Century. Tom Hardy’s performance was generally noted as a tour de force. The DVD includes the exclusive speech made by the real Charles Bronson that was played at the premiere of the film.
In 1974, a hot-headed 19 year old named Michael Peterson decided he wanted to make a name for himself and so, with a homemade sawn-off shotgun and a head full of dreams he attempted to rob a post office.
Swiftly apprehended and originally sentenced to 7 years in jail, Peterson has subsequently been behind bars for 34 years, 30 of which have been spent in solitary confinement. With an intelligent, provocative and stylized approach, Bronson (based on a true story) follows the metamorphosis of Mickey Peterson into Britain’s most dangerous prisoner, Charles Bronson.
