TIGHTROPE is presenting A Harlot’s Progress, a promenade brawl with bawds and balls, in Montague Square, SE1 (between Shakespeare’s Globe and Borough Market) – from July 22 to August 11, 2007.

Inspired by a series of six plates by Hogarth first published 275 years ago, Daniel Whelan’s A Harlot’s Progress is described as a raucous romp through the life of young Moll – a woman in pursuit of power. But in a greedy capital where dishonesty, debauchery and dysentery are the order of the day, it’s more than likely that if syphillis doesn’t get her the hangman will…...

Gemma Johnson, making her directorial debut, will direct a cast that includes Anna Blades, Leila Raoufi, Sophie Steel, Jamie Baughan, Cassie Raine and Kirsty Stuart.

Whelan’s previous work as a writer includes an adaptation of Watership Down for The Riverside Studios as well as Den of Thieves at The Cochrane Theatre.

Tickets: £5.
