Bud - King's Head Theatre

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

BUD, a bravura one-man comedy by acclaimed Cornish writer Nick Darke, will be performed at the King’s Head Theatre – on Sundays and Mondays for a four-week season between June 17 and July 8, 2012.

Bud loves Myrna – or does he? When Bud, aged 50, racks his troubled brains over the “l’il acid drops scorchin’ holes in the startched napkin of our marriage”, a torrent of surreal anecdotes, touching memories and ever-increasing anxiety builds to a shocking climax.

According to the press release, Bud charts Bud’s turbulent marital journey – from “cold-blooded proposition to passionate love affair” and beyond – with wit, wildness and hilarity.

Presented by The Tell Theatre Company, Bud is produced by Sejul Malde, directed by Penny Cliff and performed by Neil Sheffield. Design is by Jessica Maliphant and music by John Browne.

Tickets: from £10 – available from the box office on 020 7478 0160 or online at www.kingsheadtheatre.com.
