Citiest of Cities opens the More London Free Festival

Preview by Lizzie Guilfoyle

CITIEST of Cities, by Roberto Trippini and Sam Bevitt, will open the 9th More London Free Festival at the Scoop, running from June 1 to June 3, 2011.

Two rival buses – SuperCity and HyperTours – race each other from tourist sight to tourist sight, whilst their bored tour guides make up an alternative history of London in an attempt to entertain their audience.

Meanwhile, a four-cornered love square unfolds between the guides, each trying to out-do one another and impress their interest.

As this romantic comedy travels around the capital, it takes the audience through an alternative London full of the most amazing revelations.

Citiest of Cities is presented by Palladini Productions and direced by the company’s founder Saima Duhare.

The cast includes Jennifer Skapeti (as Jasmine), Simon Brandon (as Alistair), Inez MacKenzie (as Lizzie) and Aidan Creegan (as Euan).

Roberto Trippini started out writing plays for the London fringe before writing short films and a feature which premiered at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. His rom-com feature, Are You Ready For Love?, won Best Screenplay Award at the Monaco International Film Festival, and the Audience Award at the Cardiff International Film Festival in 2006.

Sam Bevitt’s previous work for Palladini Productions includes I’m A Londoner, which toured to various venues in the capital, including the Scoop Theatre Festival.

Admission: Free.

Time: 6.30pm.
