CASTING has been announced for Lucinda Burnett’s powerful new drama Correspondence, which runs at the Old Red Lion Theatre from March 8 to April 2, 2016.

The line up includes Ali Ariaie as Jibreel Jalebi, Joe Attewell as Ben Loveall, Joanna Croll as Fran Loveall, Mark Extance as David Loveall and Jill McAusland as Harriet Pretty.

Ali Ariaie’s theatre credits include Julius Caesar (Crescent Theatre), Medea and The Tale of the Wolf and the Shepherd (Arthur Cotterell Theatre), Points of Departure (Jermyn Street Theatre) and Trust Me (The Drayton Arms Theatre). He has also appeared on television in Raised by Wolves.

Joe Attewell’s theatre work includes One Time Thing (Park Theatre) and The Squeaky Clean (New Wimbledon Studio). He has also appeared on television in Jekyll & Hyde and Holby City.

Joanna Croll’s theatre credits include Romeo & Juliet (Sheffield Theatres), The Mousetrap (60th Anniversary UK Tour), Oh! What A Lovely War (Northern Stage), Wicked Women (Arcola Theatre) and Marieluise and Habitats (Gate Theatre). Her television work includes Luther and Sirens.

Mark Extance’s theatre credits include Three Days in the Country, Scenes From An Execution, Travelling Light and London Assurance (National Theatre), Yes, Prime Minster, And Then There Were None, Waiting for Godot and You Never Can Tell (UK Tour and West End), Pygmalion (Old Vic and Hong Kong Arts Festival) and Uncle Vanya (English Touring Theatre).

Jill McAusland

Jill McAusland theatre works includes Jumpy (Royal Court and Duke of York’s Theatre), Out of the Cage (Park Theatre) and The Conspirators (Orange Tree Theatre). She has also appeared on television in Call The Midwife.

A new drama written by Lucinda Burnett and directed by Blythe Stewart, Correspondence is a bittersweet story of fledgling friendships and mental health set between Stockport and Syria on the brink of the Arab Spring.
