Get Into London Theatre returns

Get Into London Theatre

Feature by Lizzie Guilfoyle

THE sixth annual Get into London Theatre (GILT) campaign is now underway with top-price tickets for many West End shows reduced to as little as £10 – reduced from the usual £50 ticket prices.

More than 60 shows are participating in this year’s event, which runs until March 17, 2007, including popular musicals Spamalot, Mary Poppins, Porgy & Bess and Evita.

There are also a number of critically acclaimed plays including The History Boys and Amy’s View.

Two forthcoming West End arrivals, The Glass Menagerie, starring Jessica Lange, and Treats, with Billie Piper, have also joined the promotion.

And there’s ballet in the form of the English National Ballet’s Giselle and opera from English National Opera’s The Marriage of Figaro to broaden peoples’ horizons.

Young audiences have also been targeted by this year’s scheme, with 16 to 25-year-olds able to buy tickets for top shows at as little as £10 or £15. These include box office phenomenons such as Wicked.

There will also be special deals on midweek matinees with tickets reduced to £15 to £25. Deals on restaurants, hotels, rail travel and parking are also available.

Details are available by visiting the Get Into London Theatre website or by calling 0870 040 0039. They can also be bought in person at the British and London Visitor Centre, No 1 Regent Street and from the theatre desk at Harrods.
