One Man, Two Guvnors continues into 2013

THE NATIONAL Theatre’s award-winning production of One Man, Two Guvnors has released over 100, 000 new tickets for sale in the West End, taking bookings at the Theatre Royal Haymarket to January 12, 2013.

Earlier this week, Richard Bean’s award-wining adaptation, based on Carlo Goldoni’s The Servant of Two Masters, triumphed on Broadway in Nicholas Hytner’s five star production.

Previously Posted: Joining the previously announced Owain Arthur as lovable chancer Francis Henshall in Nicholas Hytner’s award-winning production of One Man, Two Guvnors when it transfers to the Theatre Royal Haymarket on March 2, 2012, will be Jodie Prenger (as Dolly) and Hannah Spearritt (Pauline).

They in turn will be joined by Martin Barrass (as Alfie), David Benson (Gareth), Nigel Betts (Harry), Derek Elroy (Lloyd), Gerard Horan (Charlie), Daniel Ings (Alan), Ben Mansfield (Stanley) and Gemma Whelan (Rachel). Final ensemble casting will be announced shortly.

Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe… but Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother… who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers. However, to prevent discovery Francis must keep his two guvnors apart….

Jodie Prenger, who won the role of Nancy in Cameron Mackintosh’s revival of Oliver! after winning BBC 1’s I’d Do Anything, has recently played The Lady of The Lake in the UK tour of Spamalot. Her other television projects include Hustle, Justin’s House, Candy Cabs and Waterloo Road, all for the BBC. She also led the search to find a Toto for a gala performance of The Wizard of Oz.

She has appeared extensively on BBC Radio 2 covering for Elaine Paige and Paul O’Grady as well as co-hosting Going Out With Alan Carr, the Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show, Laurence Olivier Awards 2010 and Children in Need 2009.

She toured with John Barrowman on his UK concert tour in 2010 and 2011 and has made regular concert appearances on BBC Radio 2 including Thank You for the Music and Friday Night Is Music Night James Bond Special. She can be heard singing So Close with John Barrowman on his self titled album and she recorded In The Mood for The Very Best of Glenn Miller.

Hannah Spearritt made her stage debut in The Belle’s Stratagem at Southwark Playhouse last year. A former member of the successful pop group S Club 7, Spearritt went on to appear in American films Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London and Seed of Chucky.

Her UK television work includes Miss Marple and Blessed, although she is best known for playing the leading role of Abby Maitland in five seasons of ITV’s sci-fi series Primeval.

Both David Benson and Derek Elroy have been with One Man, Two Guvnors since its premiere at the National Theatre – Benson as part of the company and Elroy as a member of the ensemble.

Ben Mansfield has previously worked alongside Hannah Spearritt in Primeval.
